Bought a couple things from Ulta from the last week! Ulta was having a BOGO free sale on Japonesque brushes! They only do that once in a while. It’s normally buy two get one free, buy one get one half off, or something like that. I AM A HUGE FAN OF JAPONESQUE! I think that Japonesque brushes are BETTER than a lot of MAC brushes. The ones made out of squirrel hair feel divine! I already have the concealer brush, blush brush (it’s my favorite brush for blush!), and crease brush (so much softer than the scratchy MAC 224!!). I really wanted to purchase two shadow brushes but I resisted. They would have ended up about $7.50 a piece which is great, but I thought, gosh I have so many brushes. Do I really need more?
It was SO hard for me to pass up a good deal!
They were also having a BOGO free on the Ulta line of 3-1 bath gels. They normally cost $14.99. I needed to buy body wash since I had run out and had to use a nasty bar soap for emergency. I bought the Buttercream Cupcake scent. it smells just like the Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake but is much cheaper after sales and coupons.

THEN, right after that sale, Ulta had another sale where the TIGI bedhead 750 ml shampoos and conditioners (they call them “tween”
) were $9.99 each! THESE ARE STILL ON SALE SO GET TO IT YA’LL! They do this promo like… oh two, three, four times a year? I want to say two, but don’t quote me on that. I haven’t been keeping track of the time these days. Normally they cost about $23-$26! I still have bottles stored from when I stocked up on A TON from Ulta two years ago, but I bought more! I bought them on Tuesday and got them for about $8 each! The first Tuesday of every month, college students get a 20% discount on EVERYTHING in the store off the total purchase. I buy only conditioners because I have to use medicated shampoo for my psoriasis. Plus the conditioners are normally $23ish while the shampoos are $18ish so the savings are greater with conditioners. I normally use the Catwalk for colour treated hair (smells like blueberries or something like that) and Moisture Maniac (smells like Mandarin oranges!). This time I tried buying the Brunette one. I don’t see it doing anything for my hair but my goodness, it smells so good! Like a musky caramel scent. I also bought the Oatmeal and Honey. I hated it when I bought it a long time ago, but I like the smell now because of special reasons

PS. I would stay far away from the TIGI Control Freak conditioner (lime green bottle). That one is just plain weird. It suds up like a shampoo and tangled my hair. I actually thought that I accidentally used shampoo instead of conditioner! Also the TIGI Superstar (pink bottle) smells like Pepto Bismol after you store it for a while.
AAAAND here’s a coupon for $3.50 off $10 (it’ll work for 9.99 too) good until July 25 09. It says one time use only but that’s a bunch of BS. And here’s a 20% off coupon too good until July 18 09. Obviously you can only use one coupon per purchase. Here’s a tip for you guys: Every time you plan on going to Ulta, Google “Ulta coupon” or “Ulta printable coupon” and you’ll get hits for Ulta’s current coupons. That’s what I always do!
I hauled this polishes about two weeks ago but I didn’t get to posting them until now. Buy 2 get 1 free for nail polishes at Sally’s lasts all throughout April according to the Sales rep. I have tweeted this a while back though!

So these are actual products that I’ll be giving to some people. I don’t celebrate Christmas, but I feel that I have to give something to those that I know will end up giving me something, or else I make myself look bad
All products purchased at Sephora, and they do all the fancy wrapping, so you don’t have to!
Shine On Gift Of Glaze ($22)
The following Sephora pallets were originally priced at $26 but were reduced to $19. I was almost charged the original price because the SA almost forgot to adjust it! The shadows are soft and very pigmented. The case also looks gorgeous and lush. It’s reflective like a mirror. Speaking of mirror, one is included.
Okay, this is my favorite. I couldn’t find the actual product on the Sephora site, but the Sephora sold this exact pallete without the liner, lipstick, and shadow in this photo. It included fullsized shadows from Stila’s permanent matte shadow line, Kamet (light gray), Champara (light brown), Sajama (dark gray), and Makalu (black). That’s a $72 value on the shadows alone, plus you get the 4 pan refillable palette valued at $16! That’s a REAL $88 value for only $22!
$22!!! (for the palette only)
I didn’t actually purchase this, but I was contemplating on it.

So the credit for my Sephora Friends and Family haul came through today.
I got $12.46 for using ebates plus $5 that was already in my account for signing up.
It was my first time using it.
If you’ve been wanting something from Sephora but haven’t gotten to it yet, get to it! Friends and Family ends November 10th.
20% off coupon code FF2008 and remember to set up an account with ebates and go to the Sephora site through the ebates site to get 8% off on top of the 20%!
If you have questions about the site, how it works, and all that jazz, please read their help section.
REMEMBER TO CHECK EBATES EVERY TIME YOU ORDER ONLINE FROM ANY SITE. YOU NEVER KNOW IF THE SITE IS PARTNERED WITH EBATES AND THE MONEY YOU SAVE ADDS UP! Unfortunately, they don’t offer any rebates for Amazon. I’d save a lot of money since I always buy from Amazon!

So I placed my order with Sephora last night and I remembered to use Ebates this time!
I’ll be saving about $12 with ebates :). At the time I ordered, the Sephora site was real slow, and after my order was placed, I realized they never had me choose my deluxe sample! Turns out their system was down at the time due to high traffic I suppose (which is stupid on Sephora’s part. They MUST have known that this would happen as it happens every darn year, yet they don’t prepare).
I did earn the points though, and so I ended up just stopping by the mall today to get my reward items in person. Turns out that the shades that were offered in the store is different from the ones on the site. The Sephora website has Naturally Sparkly cream shadow and Sunset Shimmers lipstick. Both of these I do not know what they look like and a search on Google came up with no good hits. They must be new colors. No word on if they plan to later permanently release these. As for the store, they had Bunny Hop cream shadow and I do. I do. I do. lipstick to choose from. Both of these are from the Spring ‘08 collection and are actually CURRENTLY being sold on the Benefit site, Macys.com, and Benefit counters. I wanted to get both to show you guys (I had no idea at the time that these colors were already released), but I hated the Bunny Hop cream shadow. It a pinky coppery shade that would not flatter my eyes at all. I ended up getting two of the I do. I do. I do. lipstick. It’s a very pretty shimmery coral colour. I will take a picture tomorrow and update this post.
As for the mystery shades on the Sephora site, I’m still curious to know what they look like. I will call Sephora.com tomorrow and ask if they can describe the shades for me and I’ll update this post again with the info.
edit: Okay, so the Sephora rep told me that “naturally sparkly” and “sunset shimmer” are generic names to describe the shades, not the actual shade names themselves. The actually had three shades to give out, and they would be given at random. They could be pink, brown, whatever. The Benefit full sized samples are already out on the website, however, you can just save your points and go to the store because one of the stores I visited last night had some left.
I also talked to a Sephora SA and she told me that Sephora might not have full size “deluxe samples” for a while. She told me that it’s the cosmetic brands ex: Benefit, MUFE, Stila, etc. that make and give them the samples to give to the Beauty Insiders. Benefit just decided to give them full size samples, so that’s why they’re there. So basically, get the full sized Benefit lippies or cream shadows while you can because Sephora will probably go back to those dingy little samples once their out!
Remember ebates and Sephora’s Friends and Family! See previous post below for details!

I forgot that you can also use Ebates if you are going to purchase from Sephora or Beauty.com online. How it works is you sign up (if you don’t have an account yet of course) and click on THEIR link to Sephora or Beauty.com. Their special link tracks your account with your soon to be purchase and afterwards, you get 8% of your puchase back! I’ve actually never tried ebates, even though I’ve signed up a long time ago. I just keep forgetting to use it every time I buy something online! I will most definitely remember to use it tomorrow when I do my shopping on Sephora’s Friends and Family.
If you don’t have an account with ebates, I’d appreciate it if you use me as a referral by clicking on my referral link. After all, if you’re going to sign up anyway, it would be great if someone got 5 bucks in the process instead of no one
You also get $5 too. If you sign up through the main page, I think you get nothing.
If you have questions about the site, how it works, and all that jazz, please read their help section.
Reminder: coupon code for 20% off is FF2008.
So 20% off with the F&F coupon and 8% after that with ebates. Not too bad
I already have my list in my cart and ready!

For those that have been following my videos, I’ve mentioned my hatred for Sephora’s Beauty Insider “deluxe” SAMPLES. In the end, they are just that, samples. You accumulate a collective expenditure of $100 and all you get is a measly little sample which you usually get to choose out of 2 other measly little samples. All of which are products that you probably aren’t really interested in and will not end up using anyway.
I’m sure Sephora makes tons of money being that they carry a lot of the same lines that are also carried in department stores, however, they do not have those seasonal Gift With Purchases (which usually include a whole package of free makeup) or even some kind of program like MAC’s bak 2 mac.
Anyway, I got an email and it turns out that they are now giving away a full sized benefit cream shadow (it’s like MAC’s paint pot) or lipstick (I heard they’re like MAC’s slimshines). There is also one of those eco friendly Sephora shoppers you can choose from when your points hit 100. They do choose your cream shadow and lipstick color. These shades are probably made specifically for Sephora to give away since the shades are not available for purchase on Sephora or the Benefit website. I have no idea what these shades look like.
Sephora’s Friends and Family also starts tomorrow, so “deluxe sample” away!
This is probably a promotional thing, I’m guessing. Perhaps these shadow and lipstick shades will be released by Benefit in the future. Sephora will either start giving away full sized products for their Beauty Insider Rewards from now on, changing the brands and products of course, or they will go back to giving those crappy samples again. My instincts are telling me the shopper will stay though, but don’t quote me on that.
And California… I am so disappointed in you. I thought we were better than this…
